A surefire way to a slimmer you!

During my recent sourcing trip to the US, I came across the NutriBullet Juicing System. While I had always been a fan of juicing fruits and vegetables, I dislike the washing up later. Also, I noticed that many blenders are not able to handle juicing vegetables, especially the grassy kind eg wheat grass. When juicing these vegetables, the juice becomes lumpy and does not taste as good.

I came across the NutriBullet while watching TV. In the US, TV Media is a big thing and they sell everything from jewellery to cars on TV. One sleepless evening (jet lag), I decided to turn on the TV and started watching the NutriBullet advertisement as shown below.
This advertisement caught my attention and the next day, I headed down to the local departmental store to get one.

Unfortunately buying electrical equipment in the US means having to deal with a different voltage. They use 110V instead of the 240V we use. Fortunately for me though, I have a transformer back home for my previous sandwich maker which I bought from the US, so this is not so much of an issue.

When I got back a week later, I tried the Nutribullet system with a little bit of scepticism but to my amazement, the product worked as advertised. It easy to use, easy to wash and most importantly, it makes juice with all kinds of fruits and vegetables in a fraction of the time a normal blender does.

With this blender, I am now eating healthier and in less time than I would normally take to eat. My breakfast is a now usually a glass of thick blended juice which I prepare and drink on the spot.

While back in Singapore, I found that there is a company bringing in the NutriBullet system here although as a slightly higher price that what they sell for in the US. However, the advantage is that it comes with the proper voltage for local use, and hence the extra cost to purchase a transformer is not necessary.

I would highly recommend this product to all our readers, especially those who want to live healthy and lose some weight.

Quality Or Quantity?

Its first August! And guess who is making their reappearance after a very long hibernating period? Its us! - Frenzzy Concept is back! We apologise for having been gone for too long. Anyway, let's get straight to the point here.

In this post, we will be blogging about the differences in material between clothings made in China versus the clothings made in France and USA.

So... let's get started. To start with, clothings made in China. As all of you may know, clothings made in China actually dominated the apparel industry. Why is this so? This is because material, labour, workmanship can all be done at a very low cost. Also, they are known to be able to imitate many designs even from high end fashion as easy as A, B, C! So, yes, its cheap,  but think about it, would you rather wear a clothing that have very low quality material and suffer from feeling hot easily, stiff material and in some cases get rashes after wearing those clothes or would you pay slightly more for a better quality material? Hmmmm....

Now, let's talk about the clothings made in France and USA, (which we specialise in, Ahem!). Our clothings, is authentically made in the two countries above. Most of the clothes are made from a high percentage of polyester. This polyester material is known to give us a cooling effect especially in this very hot and humid country. In addition, they are fuss-free! Why? We couldn't emphasise on how our customers do not need to iron the clothes they bought from us! See, that's two plus points! Of course our clothings will cost more as compared to most clothings made in China, Hong Kong, Korea etc. But why wouldn't we pay more for better quality things?

Remember its always quality before quantity! Why buy tons of cheap and of low quality things and in the end just having to throw them away as they are no longer wearable? Instead, wouldn't it be better to buy long-lasting, better quality things that you can keep and wear for very long?

After all those facts stated, it all boils down to you guys out there. If you want a fuss-free, easy maintenance,  cooling clothings, do visit Frenzzy Concept!

Why Wear Prints?

For us, prints have always been a trademark. Step into our shop and all you see are prints, prints, prints and more prints. From animal prints to floral prints! You name it, we have it!

So why prints? Printed clothings should be made a staple in everyone's wardrobe. According to All4Women, a website that provides information for all women out there, it says that prints can help someone look totally different. Well, not different as in even your looks change! For example, some prints like vertical line prints can help someone who have a bigger body frame to look slightly smaller. Horizontal prints can make a person look wider. Small floral prints can camouflage those who has a tummy and bigger floral prints can do the exact opposite, making someone look bigger.

( See how prints can make them look slimmer? Also, notice that their flaws could not be seen!)

This thus means that prints have its pros and cons depending on how a person choose the prints to help highlight certain body features. Wrong prints can be a total disaster. However, prints are a better choice compared to solid colours. Why?

( Look at this lady here. She is wearing a single-toned dress and her flaws are way too obvious!)

(Well, now compare this with the previous lady. Notice the differences in wearing prints and  single-toned dresses??)

Therefore, when you wear a single tone coloured dress for example, all the unsightly flaws can be easily seen, especially if its a figure hugging dress. As compared to a printed dress, where the prints help to conceal the flaws. Isn't that amazing?! Thus, this post is a shoutout to those who are not adventurous enough to wear prints, you should make a change! Start wearing prints now! And with that, head down to Frenzzy Concept to get a wide selection of printed apparels!

A sneak peek at S-Twelve!

Earlier post mentioned about the brand Stwelve. So here is a little background information about the brand. The brand, Stwelve originated from the United States of America. A brand that sells apparels such as tops, dresses, bottoms which includes skirts and pants and also outerwears. Quite a good range, I must say. Material wise, mostly are made of polyester. Also, the material is very cooling and thank this fact due to the hot weather in Singapore.
So much about the brand. Now its time to take a look at some of the collections that we have in store! Interested in any of the pieces below? Come down to our shop located at 810 Geylang Road #02-65 City Plaza!

It's the Christmas season, and there's no way you are going to give those tantalising turkey a miss.
Fret not, for xinmsn has prepared some simple and easy exercises to help you bid farewell to those belly fats.

If you are still adamant on the idea that voracious sit-ups regime is the only way to go for a flatter, toner tummy, it is time to sweep those erstwhile thoughts out and away from your mind.
Pilates, with its rich history that dates back to 1920s, is one great way to strengthen and tone your body muscles, stabilise your core and improving your flexibility - all without exhausting great physical strength!

We have put together some tips and exercises to help achieve that flat abdominal that you dream about.

Let's begin!

These exercises and tips were made possible by Alvin Giam, founder and Director of Pilates Bodywork and Ms. Helen Stoker, Pilates Teacher at Pilates Bodyworks.

Lying down on your back, keeping your legs as straight and flat to the ground as possible.
Slowly position your leg at a 45 degree angle and stretch your arms out and behind your head for support. Picture 1

Then, slowly roll your torso forward allowing your back to lift slowly off the ground.
Note: It is important to focus on keeping your stomach muscles tight; breathing out as you slowly lay back down. Hold this motion and repeat as many times as possible before stopping to rest.

For an extra challenge, incorporate a foam roller into your exercise.
Bend legs to position with hands to the side. Slowly lift legs up at angle, pointing them straight up in the air, and alternate the movements while maintaining stabilization in your torso, pelvis and lower back at all time.

Note: You may find balancing to be difficult because of the small surface area, but the foam roller is great help in helping you stretch and maintain your posture. Remember, the trick is to keep calm, relax and focus on stabilising yourself. Pilates is all about working the body and mind.

"The Hundred" is a fundamental Pilates exercise, performed on the pilates reformer. The name refers to completing one set, which is based on 100 counts.

(foreground) Place legs on the foot bar. Lie on your back and bring one leg to a 90-degree angle. Place both hands in the straps on either side of the body and extend your arms down by your side. Keep your head straight and slowly push backwards, sliding on the reformer.
(background) For an alternative, extend your feet toward the sides.

(background) Rest your legs on the foot bar. While inhaling, slowly lift one leg straight up, making sure to feel the stretch along your thighs. Exhale and bring leg to rest. Repeat exercise with the other leg.

Note: After performing these exercises, your limbs will tend to feel longer, and for the inactive, you might feel a slight strain in your abdominal muscles. This is only normal as you are on your way to strengthening your core muscles!

(foreground) Place both feet in the straps of the reformer and place your heels together. Extend the heels out, creating a small "V" with your legs while sliding back on the machine. Bend the knees and draw the inner thighs in together.
(background) Alternate movements by bending one leg and extending the other to the side.
Note: Opt to use 2 springs for additional difficulty level once you feel comfortable and confident enough with this exercise.

(foreground) With both feet still in the straps, being heels together. Slowly lift legs up, making sure that heels remain together at all time. Maintain legs at 45 degree for as long as possible (a good number to work with is 5 counts), making sure that hips do not move. Exhale and rest.

(background) For an alternate, lift feet to 90 degree angle.

So there you have it! It's time to go after that body tummy you've been yearning! Enjoy the workout!

Do "stars" and "celebrities" wear the same dresses that you and I wear?

Do "Stars" and "Celebrities" wear the clothes that you and I wear?

Of course they do! Naturally, when you see them during big and prestigious events such as the Oscars, they will wear a dress costing several (or even hundreds of) thousands of dollars. But the truth is, few of them owns these dresses outright. Most of them are sponsored by designers to bring up their own names. That's why you never see them wear the same dress twice!

But on an average day, "stars" and "celebrities" let their hair down, just like everyone else. They put on clothes that makes them feel comfortable but yet not too sloppy. Brands like S-Twelve, Boho-Chic, Eden Rose etc... are more common among them than most of us think.
With this in mind, we intend to bring you pictures of people you may know who sometimes wear the clothes that you and I wear.
For a start, anyone watch "Dog the Bounty Hunter" starring Duane Chapman, a real live convict and born-again Christian who is the result of a strong rehabilitation program of the Texas jail and is now, one of the greatest bounty hunter in the world. Here is a picture of him and his wife, Beth, in a more casual mood wearing an S-Twelve dress which we carry (check with us for stocks!). Naturally, you do not need a figure like Beth to carry it well!
